[Vocal Profile] Adele
Vocal Type: Mezzo-soprano
Vocal Range: 2 octaves and 3 notes (C3- F5)
Whistle Register: No
Vocal Strengths: Adele is a Diva whose strength comes from her delivery and adherence to melody, rather than showy tricks or vocal gymnastics. Though able to hold notes [Skyfall], sing melisma [First Love], and jump octaves [Hometown Glory], she chooses to employ a simpler, bluesy vocal styling that keeps the understandability of her lyrics at the fore.
Adele's lower range is dark and solid. She appears to be comfortable enough here, being able to replicate notes hit in the studio when in a live setting
Adele's midrange is feminine, sweet and of medium weight. With an easy and effortless quality, it is the part of the range that is most lyrical [Lovesong]. It is also emotively versatile, with the Diva being able to inject a number of emotions into her delivery. For instance, Rumour Has It is direct and tinged with attitude; Make you Feel My Love is soft and forlorn; while Rolling in the Deep is clear and cool in its proud spite.

Justin Beiber- Vocal Range/ Profile
Justin Bieber
Vocal Type: Difficult to ascertain at this transitional period.
Vocal Range:2 Octaves 1 note and a semitone C#3-E5 [includes notes before puberty]
Whistle Register:No
Vocal Pluses: Justin Bieber 's midrange is where the voice finds its most comfortable and consistent tone, which has a slight huskiness to it. This "comfort" stretches to the bottom half of his belting range, which is bright and with a cool colouring. He also has the ability to sing in a warm, breathy falsetto, that he can switch to and from easily.
Justin Beiber is able to utilise vocal runs, and to hold and maintain a note without issue. Overall he has a light voice, that has a pleasant, slightly nasal, tone.
Vocal Negatives: The voice lacks resonance and power.

Karen Clark-Sheard- Vocal Range/ Profile
Vocal Type: Soprano
Vocal Range: 2 Octaves 5 Notes and a semitone F3-Eb6
Whistle Register: Yes
Vocal Pluses: Voice that is rooted in the emotive Gospel music. Incredibly agile voice that allows for complex melisma up and down the different parts of the range, as well as the ability to manipulate it into healthy sounding grunts and growls. Mixes her head and chest voice ably to create sustainable, and masterful upper fifth octave belting.
Vocal Negatives: Higher head notes sound shrill.

Faith Evans-Vocal Range/Profile
Vocal Type: Mezzo-Soprano
Vocal Range: 2 Octaves 5 notes and a semitone C#3-B5
Whistle Register: No
Vocal Pluses: Comfortable in her heavy, low range as well as adept in her light, agile chest register that she mixes well to achieve great sounding upper chest belts or keeps throaty to give a soulful rasp to. The voice has a smooth tone and a smoky quality that lends itself well to harmonising well with others, as well as layering well over itself. The voice is dexterous enough to complete complex melisma through the registers.
Vocal Negatives: Her head voice isn't as characterful, or exciting as the rest of the voice.

Lisa Gerrard-Vocal Range/ Profile
Vocal Range: 2 Octaves 1 note E3-F5
Whistle Register: No
Vocal Pluses: Incredibly versatile voice that has many colours and timbres throughout the range. Her lower chest voice is heavy, rich and dramatic with a dark colouring and operatic timbre. This contrasts greatly to the higher part, that is bright, thin and piercing with a greater affinity for melisma.
The lower part of her head voice sounds warm and rounded and can either have an operatic mezzo-esque quality to it or a breathier lighter sound depending on the desired effect. The top part of the head voice shares the piercing and shrill qualities of the upper chest voice.
Vocal Negatives: The harsher, more penetrating, parts of her voice are not as easy to listen to as the more rounded and fuller parts.

Julie Andrews Vocal Range/Profile (Vocal Prime)
Vocal Type: Soprano
Vocal Range: 2 Octaves 2 notes and a1 semitone F#3-Bb5 (Note: she has claimed to have had a 4 octave range. If anyone knows any lower, or higher notes she has sung, please get in contact or comment.)
Whistle Register: No
Vocal Pluses: Classically trained, powerful yet dexterous soprano, with a gorgeous clarity to her tone and a natural vibrato. Seamless transition between registers. Vocal stamina in her youth - she was on Broadway constantly from the age of 20 - 23. Wonderfully expressive phrasing and emotive interpretation of song. Also a superb actor (Oscar-winning) and dancer.
Vocal Negatives: Due to her reliance on classical technique, she struggles with certain styles (ie her 'Jazz Hot Baby' from 'Victor Victoria' isn't really that jazzy or bluesy!). However superb at musicals, operetta and light classical music.
Thanks To Karen V for directing me to the notes, and providing the positives and negatives.

Vocal Pluses: Sold, clear tone to the low/mid range and chest voice, with a warm, soft head voice.

Fantasia Barrino- Vocal Profile/ Range
Vocal Type: Mezzo- Soprano
Vocal Range: 2 Octaves 6 notes and a semitone C3-Bb5
Whistle Register: No
Vocal Pluses: Voice has a rasp that gives it a distinct, husky sound. She has great control, and understanding of her voice which allows her to sing in the extremes of her voice- both high and low- with apparent ease.
Vocal Negatives: At times her voice is placed in the throat, causing it to sound coarse and pushed. The raspiness of her voice is also somewhat of an acquired taste.

Amber Riley - Vocal Profile/ Range
Vocal Type: Light Lyric Soprano
Vocal Range: 2 Octaves 3 notes and a semitone F3-C6
Whistle Register: No
Vocal Pluses: Amber Riley has great breath control which allows her to hold notes for notable periods of time without issue. Her ability to support her voice with great technique means that these notes are sustained with no pitch deviation or lose of dynamic. She can also sing melisma and has the use of a quick vibrato.
Amber's main vocal strengths comes from her extensive belting range. It has power and great dynamics, combined with a light and bright quality. She appears to have great technique when mixing her voice on the higher notes and this avoids undue strain on the vocal chords, and produces a consistent sound throughout the belting range. This allows her the impressive feat of being able to ascend to a soprano high C (C6) in what sounds like the chest register alone, when in fact it is a deft mix with her head voice.
Vocal Negatives: Voice lacks agility, so complex vocal runs can sound clumsy and a little laboured. The voice also struggles with the lower notes and has an immature, childlike colouring to it at times.

Bjork - Vocal Profile/ Range
Vocal Type: Robusto Soprano
Vocal Range: 2 Octaves 7 notes and a semitone E3-D6
Whistle Register: No
Vocal Pluses: Voice is strongest in the midrange and in the lower chest register (up to a D5). Unusually the chest voice retains its power, volume and strength despite its timbre thinning somewhat as it pushes higher. As a whole, the voice is a dynamic one that can be oppressive and domineering one moment, and soft and sweet the next. It has the dexterity to sing complex melodies and vocal runs, but also the stamina to hold notes, while maintaining its quality, at length.
Vocal Negatives: The lack of vibrato sometimes makes the higher chest notes sound too sharp and piercing, thus becoming overbearing at times.

Vocal Pluses: Expressive, soulful voice that manages to maintain these qualities throughout the registers. The lower range has a beautiful cool, smoky tone to it whereas the belted voice is warmer with a gutsy, passion to it. Her head voice is also full, and bright.
Vocal Negatives: The technique she employs to generate grunts and growls, though sounding good and in keeping with her vocal style, can cause problems to the voice if used extensively.
